Northern Territory Police are investigating reports of an aggravated assault in a remote community in the Barkly region yesterday.
Around 1am, police received reports that a 30-year-old man had allegedly been assaulted with an edged weapon.
The victim suffered injuries to his head and attended the local clinic for medical treatment.
The 31-year-old alleged offender, who is known to the victim, fled the scene prior to police arrival.
Detectives from the Southern Criminal Investigations Branch are investigating the incident and are urging anyone with information to make contact on 131 444 or to attend your local station.
