A 43-year-old man from Shediac, N.B., has been arrested following an armed robbery in the community.

On April 17, 2024, shortly after 3 a.m., members of the Shediac RCMP responded to a report of a robbery at a business on Main Street in the community. The suspect told the clerk he had a gun and proceeded to take a number of lottery scratch tickets before leaving on foot.

On April 23, members of the Shediac RCMP and the Southeast District Crime Reduction Unit arrested a 43-year-old man for robbery. Steve Hudon of Shediac was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court on April 26, 2024.

The investigation is ongoing.
