EAGAN, MN – U.S. Representative Angie Craig secured $850,000 in federal funding to improve the safety of 23 road crossings along the 27-mile Mississippi River Greenway corridor and provide consistent trail signage throughout the corridor.

The Mississippi River Greenway is a key link in a 73-mile regional trail system that connects the cities of St. Paul and Hastings and many destinations along the Mississippi River, including Dakota County’s Spring Lake Reserve Bison Prairie.

“Completing the Mississippi River Greenway will create a safe and accessible space for Minnesotans to enjoy nature, while connecting several Dakota County communities along the Mississippi River. I’m grateful to the state and local partners who worked with us to secure the funding needed to make sure this space is open for everyone who wants to visit,” said Rep. Craig.

The funding will enhance the Mississippi River Greenway as a major recreational amenity for Minnesota communities, creating an accessible space for diverse visitors to enjoy nature along the Mississippi River.
