Washington, D.C. — Florida Congressman Daniel Webster, R-Clermont, along with Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (R-NY) and 15 of his Republican colleagues, sent a letter to National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) President Charlie Baker, urging him to change NCAA policies to ban biological men from participating in women’s sports.

“As you know, last week the NAIA Council of Presidents unanimously approved a new policy regarding transgender athletes. This policy prohibits the participation of biological males, who have undergone hormone therapy, in women’s sports,” the members wrote. “As such, we urge the NCAA to reconsider its current policy that allows biological males to deprive women of a fair opportunity to compete and achieve athletic success.”

Rep. Webster has also taken action to protect women’s sports by voting to pass H.R. 734, the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, legislation he co-sponsored.

Co-signers of the letter include, Jeff Duncan (R-SC), Nick Langworthy (R-NY), Dan Crenshaw (R-TX), Barry Moore (R-AL), Christopher Smith (R-NJ), Neal Dunn (R-FL), Glenn Grothman (R-WI), Diana Harshbarger (R-TN), Anthony D’Esposito (R-NY), Rich McCormick (R-GA), Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-IA), Jim Banks (R-IN), Randy Weber (R-TX), Max Miller (R-OH), and Greg Steube (R-FL).
