The online platform NSUJobs.ru for job search for students and graduates of Novosibirsk State University was created by a 2nd year master’s student Faculty of Economics, Novosibirsk State University Lev Lobov. The beta version of the service was launched at the beginning of this year; it became fully operational a month ago, but has already surpassed the mark of 700 active users. The project was implemented with the information support of the Career Development Center and the Center for Technology Transfer and Commercialization of NSU.

The difference between the NSUJobs.ru platform and other sites posting vacancies is that it is specialized. Only NSU students and graduates have access to vacancies, and employers are NSU industrial partners or cooperate with the university in the field of scientific and high-tech developments. Among them are such well-known companies as 2GIS, Leroy Merlin, MTS, Beeline, Sovcombank, Sberbank, Tinkoff and others. Innovative companies from Akademgorodok also offer vacancies. More than 30 organizations have already posted their vacancies on the new platform.

— We receive excellent feedback from employers, students and graduates of our university. There are currently about 700 registered users on our platform, and traffic over the past month has amounted to more than a thousand people. And this despite the fact that the working version of the platform was launched just over a month ago! We are completely satisfied with these statistics. I am very glad that we really help students and graduates of our university with employment, and thanks to our service they get the opportunity to work in their specialty and be professionally realized in their field of activity,” said Lev Lobov, head of the platform.

In order to get to the NSUJobs.ru resource and get acquainted with the vacancies posted on it, a student or graduate of NSU just needs to log in using an email with the nsu.ru domain, then fill out a questionnaire that would reflect professional knowledge and skills, and existing education , presence or absence of work experience in the specialty, expectations from the employer, contact information for feedback. Even those who received a diploma from NSU several years ago will be able to do this, since the personal account at the university is retained by the graduate. After authorization, NSUJobs.ru visitors have the opportunity to view posted vacancies, respond to them and communicate with the employer in chats.

— First of all, we focus on the quality of vacancies posted on our platform. The emphasis is on those jobs where students and graduates can already apply their knowledge and skills and further develop professionally in the direction they mastered at NSU. We have chosen a mission to help every student and graduate realize their professional potential. Unlike existing platforms, such as HeadHunter, Zarplata.ru or others, whose activities are related to the search and selection of vacancies for students and graduates, NSUJobs.ru, when attracting vacancies, focuses on non-linear personnel. Therefore, you will not see vacancies for couriers, general workers, or cashiers on this resource. Another competitive advantage we have over other services that help students find jobs is that we offer vacancies directly from employers, with each of whom you can contact directly and get answers to all your questions,” explained Lev Lobov.

The platform interface is clear and easy to use. Here you can easily find vacancies that meet the most important criteria: work schedule (full or part-time), form of employment (in the office and remotely), internships, volunteering, etc. Most vacancies do not require the applicant to have work experience.

Now the NSUJobs.ru platform team is striving to increase the number of Academgorodok companies in its employer database that are engaged in knowledge-intensive and innovative activities. Their goal is to help find promising and interesting work for students who wish to engage in research and scientific work in the field of natural sciences. Lev Lobov notes that the first employers who were attracted to post vacancies on NSUJobs.ru were interested in representatives of the humanities. They needed lawyers, economists, and project managers. Among the representatives of the exact sciences, programmers turned out to be in demand. Now companies engaged in innovative developments related to electronics, biology and chemistry have begun to contact the initiators of the project.

The plans of the developers of the NSUJobs.ru service are to make it a career development platform for students and graduates of universities throughout Russia. To do this, you need to set up verification in such a way that students from other universities can log in to the platform through their university accounts.
