The LADA Sport ROSNEFT Junior team successfully performed in the final of the Russian Karting Championship and confirmed its status as the strongest team in the country following the results of the racing season. The final stage of the competition took place last weekend at the Plastunka go-kart track in Sochi.
The competition for prize places in the domestic Karting Championship continues to grow thanks to the emergence of young and talented pilots, including in the updated composition of the youth team LADA Sport ROSNEFT Junior.
The team’s young pilots consistently took prize places and scored points throughout the season. Yaroslav Shevyrtalov, Artem Severyukhin, Gerasim Skulanov and debutant Stepan Antonov, who competed in the senior racing classes, entered the top three in the team standings following the final races in Sochi. This allowed the LADA Sport ROSNEFT Junior team to win the title of Russian Champion for the third time in a row.
Karting is the first step in world motorsports. Rosneft and the LADA Sport ROSNEFT team have been jointly supporting this sport for many years, giving young people the opportunity to continue their careers as professional pilots. The graduates of the LADA Sport ROSNEFT Junior sports program compete for the main team in the most powerful class of the Russian Circuit Racing Series.
Since 2015, Rosneft has been the general sponsor of the LADA Sport ROSNEFT team, supporting the pilots’ successes and developing Russian motorsports. Thanks to this cooperation, the team has become a leader in Russian circuit racing, and the automobile market has received a number of innovative products: high-octane gasoline Pulsar-100 and sports racing oil Rosneft Magnum Racing.
