Christopher Duggan (BA Honours [International Development Studies and Earth Sciences], Dalhousie University, 1999; MA [Public Administration and Policy – International Stream], Carleton University, 2002) joined the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade in 2002. He has held a number of positions in foreign policy and trade, including Director of the Middle East, Africa and Climate Change Division in the Privy Council Office and Director of the Security and Defence Relations Division at Global Affairs Canada. Abroad, he has served in Romania, Jamaica and Nigeria, and was Deputy Director of the NATO Liaison Office in Ukraine from 2019 to 2021. Most recently, he served as Director General at National Defence.
