The cantonal office for inspection and labor relations (OCIRT) organizes face-to-face or webinar training courses throughout the year. They are primarily aimed at private sector companies, workers and specialists in the OCIRT’s fields of activity. Most of them are free of charge and aim to raise your awareness and facilitate your adaptation to legal standards. Some of them are eligible for training credits.

Description

Several occupational factors (carrying loads, chemical agents, biological agents, radiation, noise, stress, etc.) can cause risks to maternity. Preventing these risks involves actions that must be designed and implemented, whenever possible, before the start of pregnancy. The employer is required to implement protective measures for women of childbearing age and must provide specific information actions for them. In this context, the involvement of an occupational physician and other occupational health specialists may be useful or even essential in certain cases, so that an analysis of the health-work interface and the risks involved can be carried out and work adjustments can be put in place.

This training will take place in two stages: awareness-raising in the form of a webinar and discussions on concrete situations in person 10 days later.

Objective

At the end of this training, participants should be able to:

know the Ordinance on the Protection of Maternity (OProMa – LTr) and the responsibility of the different actors; identify the most significant occupational hazards endangering the health of the pregnant woman and the child and take into account the possible risks incurred during pregnancy on the basis of a risk analysis carried out by a specialist; understand the health issues and legal obligations for the employer before and after childbirth, as well as during the breastfeeding period.
