Much attention is paid to the development of the federal highway M-12 “Vostok”. Multifunctional zones (MFZ) with gas stations and parking lots, necessary services for motorists and passengers are being created. A new MFZ has opened at the 778th km of the M-12 “Vostok” in the direction of Kazan, Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin reported.

“We continue to develop roadside infrastructure and create comfortable rest areas for motorists on high-speed highways. The M-12 “Vostok” road along its entire length from Moscow to Kazan was opened less than a year ago, and 20 multifunctional road service zones are already operating on it. The new MFS opened at the 778th km in the direction of Kazan. The complex includes a gas station and a service building with a terrace for servicing drivers and passengers with a supermarket and a cafe where you can buy hot meals and essential goods. For the convenience of motorists, additional parking spaces for trucks and cars are provided. In total, 32 multifunctional road service zones are planned to be located on the section between Moscow and Kazan,” said Marat Khusnullin.

The head of the state company Avtodor, Vyacheslav Petushenko, noted that the approach to the development of high-speed highways is based on customer centricity.

“Modern high-speed roads are not only smooth asphalt with markings, lighting and barrier fencing. This is a full-fledged infrastructure service, which includes round-the-clock roadside assistance, high-quality, high-speed communications and the opportunity to comfortably rest on the road in the most modern road service zones. By the end of 2024, we plan to launch four more such complexes on the M-12, including a mirror MFS also at the 778th km of the highway, but already in the direction of Moscow. Two more multifunctional service zones will open on both sides of the road at the 483rd km of the M-12 in the Nizhny Novgorod Region and one at the 616th km in the direction of Moscow in the Chuvash Republic,” said Vyacheslav Petushenko.

When creating the multifunctional zone of the state company Avtodor, the division of traffic flows on the territory of the multifunctional zone by types of vehicles (passenger cars and trucks), the creation of a large comfortable pedestrian core, bus infrastructure, the safety of drivers and pedestrians on the territory of the multifunctional zone due to zoning and separation of flows are taken into account.
