MIL-OSI Economics: The Pula depreciated by 1 percent against the South African rand

Over the twelve months period to August 2024, the nominal Pula exchange rate depreciated by 3.9 percent against the South African rand and appreciated by 0.5 percent against the IMF Special Drawing Rights (SDR). With respect to the SDR constituent currencies, the Pula appreciated by 1.6 percent against the US dollar, 0.9 percent against the Japanese yen and 0.1 against the euro, while it depreciated by 2 percent against the British pound and 1.3 percent against the Chinese renminbi.

The Pula depreciated by 1 percent against the South African rand and appreciated by 0.6 percent against the SDR over the one-month period to August 2024. It depreciated by 3.1 percent against the Japanese yen, 0.5 percent against the British pound and 0.3 percent against the euro, while it appreciated by 2.1 percent against the US dollar and remained relatively stable against the Chinese renminbi.
