CHICAGO– Today, Congressman Jesús “Chuy” García (IL-04) announced a new staff hire in his district. Adrian Calderon will serve as District Director providing strategic advice and direction on constituent services, outreach, and stakeholder engagement. He will lead Team Chuy in the Western Suburbs and Southwest Chicago district offices.

“I’m enthusiastic to welcome Adrian to the team,” said Congressman García. “Adrian brings a breadth of experience in leadership development and expertise that will be instrumental in our strategic vision for Illinois’ 4th Congressional District.”

“Working for and on behalf of Illinois’ 4th District is an honor, and I am humbled to collaborate with a dedicated staff advancing progressive values and fighting for immigrants, and the working class. I am excited to work to help advance Congressman García’s legacy of organizing and coalition building, for the benefit of the residents of our district,” saidAdrian Calderon.

Calderon joins Congressman García’s team from the United States Hispanic Leadership Institute (USHLI), a Chicago-based national nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that promotes education, research, and leadership development, and empowers Latinos by maximizing their civic awareness, engagement, and participation.

Born and raised in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood, Adrian is the youngest of ten siblings and grew up in a Latino family where education and community involvement are highly valued. Adrian earned his BA in Sociology with a minor in Latina/Latino Studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
