Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Lamborn joined other members of Congress and leaders of the pro-life movement to commemorate the two-year anniversary of the Dobbs decision and recognize the right to life for all, including the unborn.

Congressman Lamborn made the following remarks during a press conference hosted by Live Action.

“Thank you and good morning. I am really honored to be here with you all this morning.

As a representative of Colorado Springs, I’ve been privileged to serve in Congress since 2007, although I have been advocating for the sanctity of life for decades. Including 12 years in the state legislature where I introduced more pro life legislation than anyone in the history of Colorado. Our journey has been long and arduous, filled with challenges and doubts. All of us have fought against Roe v Wade with unwavering determination, unsure after almost half a century if we would ever see its overturn.  And yet, here we are, two years later commemorating that wonderful decision. I am still amazed that it happened. Our success is a testament to the tireless efforts of millions of grassroots activists nationwide, including people gathered here today.  They’ve dedicated their time and energy to educating the public and advocating for the voiceless, innocent,  and those who have no defense, often facing threats and opposition.  I applaud every one of them for their unwavering commitment. I also want to acknowledge the invaluable contributions of national pro-life groups, whose expertise and strategic initiatives have propelled us forward.  Their dedication to crafting federal legislation and legal challenges has been instrumental in this journey.

However, as we celebrate this two year milestone, we must remain vigilant. While we’ve seen progress with thousands of lives saved these past two years, we’ve also witnessed a troubling increase in abortion rates in some states. The fight for life is far from over. Challenges persist, from the distribution of dangerous abortion drugs. Our fight continues, and we must harness the momentum from Dobbs to secure further victories.

I joined the fight for life here in congress by joining the pro-life caucus, serving as the Co-Chair of the Values Action Team, and introducing numerous pisces of pro-life legislation. Including the Second Chance at Life Act, which would require doctors to advise patients that two-step medicated abortions are reversible between the first and second steps. That should be the law of the land under the basis of informed consent. I have also sponsored several bills to improve and reform the adoption system, making sure that children can find loving homes and showing that our commitment to life extends way beyond the moment of birth itself.

I extend my heartfelt thanks to Live Action for hosting this celebration and to all the activists whose dedication has made this victory possible.  Together, let us continue our work with determination and conviction, knowing that our efforts are making a difference.  I am pleased to stand with each of you and eagerly anticipate future victories.”
