As noted, the region is one of the supporting subjects of the Far East and is rich in natural resources. This creates a good basis for the development of various sectors of the economy.

“I would especially like to note the fairly developed shipbuilding industry. Shipyards located in the region are also used for the construction of a fishing fleet as part of the investment quota mechanism. The region also has extensive land resources. This in turn provides opportunities for further growth in agricultural production. And of course, natural resources oblige us to pay special attention to their rational use and generally take care of the environment,” Dmitry Patrushev said during the meeting.

In addition, speaking about the fire hazard situation in the forests of the Far East, as well as preparations for the passage of flood waters in the district, the Deputy Prime Minister noted that the situation in the region in both directions is controlled. At the same time, taking into account the forecasts, it is necessary to carefully monitor the implementation of measures aimed at minimizing possible damage.

Also, during a trip to the region, Dmitry Patrushev inspected a dam under construction in Khabarovsk. Dams are objects with water collection and pumping systems and sluice regulators. According to the designers’ calculations, the implementation of the project will prevent periodic flooding of the coastal part of the city and the destruction of the coastal strip. The length of the dam is 5.4 km, height – up to 10.5 m. It will protect about 33.4 thousand people from flooding. The facility is scheduled for completion this year.
