I am pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Anastasis (Tass) Liveris as a Judge of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (FCFCOA) (Division 2). Mr Liveris has been appointed to the Darwin Registry and commences on 5 February 2024.

The Australian Government is committed to merit in appointing judicial officers. Mr Liveris has been appointed following an open call for expressions of interest across all jurisdictions, and consideration by an advisory panel. The advisory panel shortlisted, assessed and put forward recommended candidates for appointment, including Mr Liveris.

On behalf of the Australian Government, I congratulate Mr Liveris on his appointment and thank him for his willingness to serve the people of Australia as a Judge of the FCFCOA (Division 2).
