WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Elissa Slotkin (MI-07) and a bipartisan group of more than 20 cosponsors have introduced an amendment that would keep the fighter mission at Selfridge Air National Guard Base to the Fiscal Year 2025 National Defense Authorization Act.

Slotkin’s bipartisan amendment #585 has 23 cosponsors, including seven members of Michigan’s delegation, and will be considered by the Rules Committee tomorrow in advance of floor action on the full bill this week. The Congresswoman spoke about this important effort during the bill’s markup last month.

Last month, the House Armed Services Committee passed the NDAA with over 40 provisions Slotkin offered as a member of the committee. One of those provisions would require the Department of Defense to fund the advanced procurement of 24 F-15EX aircraft, which could be used to replace the A-10 squadron at Selfridge.

Additional amendments Slotkin is introducing to be considered by the Rules Committee are listed HERE.
