(June 7, 2024—Normandy, France) Today, Congressman Keith Self participated in a parachute jump from a C-47 Skytrain over Mont Saint-Michel in Normandy, France to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day. He was joined by seven House Republican veterans, all donning World War II paratrooper uniforms.

“While I was thrilled to jump over Normandy, nothing compares to the harrowing experience that took place here 80 years ago,” said Congressman Keith Self. “The brave soldiers who dutifully parachuted from above or stormed the beaches did so amid chaos and terror, with no guarantee of completing the operation alive. We must commit to remembering and honoring the Greatest Generation, especially those who risked everything to protect our freedom on June 6th, 1944.”
