The “Active Citizen” project offers to choose best tourist routes, which were presented by participants in the “Show Moscow” online competition. This was reported by Natalia Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of Moscow. Voting is open until July 15.

The winners’ excursions will be published with attribution in the online publication “Russpass-magazine”.

“This year’s competition was a record-breaking one in two respects. It collected over 600 applications – twice as many as last time. Citizens from eight to 86 years old sent in their proposals – this is the widest age range of all time. 80 routes were selected for voting. According to tradition, 17 winners will be determined: Muscovites will choose the best in each of the 12 districts, and the jury will select the five most creative participants,” noted Natalya Sergunina.

Most often, the authors sent ideas for walks in the Central, North-Eastern and Southern administrative districts. The most popular topics were history and culture. For example, contestants offer to explore the metro, use bicycles while walking, walk around the city, or enjoy the views from the windows of water buses.

Sobyanin invited Muscovites to come up with new tourist routes around the capital

The routes of eight-year-old Victor Van along Shelepikha and 81-year-old Victoria Yantovskaya along Kapotnya made it to the finals.

Participants also offer unusual formats for walks. Thus, Anastasia Volosova from the Eastern Administrative District presented a 17-kilometer-long cycling route on the topic “Moscow origin of famous phraseological units and catchphrases.” It leads through several areas – from Sokolniki Park to Khilkov Lane.

Guide Vitaly Kalashnikov from the Central Administrative District together with the team of the Moscow Drama Theater named after S.A. Yesenina created an immersive excursion-performance “Reading Room. Start”. Those interested will be introduced to the history and interiors of the ancient mansion, where the library-reading room named after A.S. is located. Pushkin.

11-year-old Maria Yakovleva from the Western Administrative District compiled the “Green Ring of JSC” route with a length of 86 kilometers. It includes 35 attractions, 32 parks, squares and reserves, six observation platforms, four springs and springs, two eco-trails.

Other ideas put to vote include an immersive excursion into the history of the Lefortovo district, a journey into the aerospace past of the Airport district, nature and patriotic walks, as well as a quest through the stations of the second Moscow Central Diameter.

The finalists were selected by members of an expert jury. It included representatives of the Association of Guides-Interpreters, Tour Guides and Tour Managers, the Museum of Moscow, the tourism industry, metropolitan departments and winners of previous competitions.

Over five years, more than 1.7 thousand people took part in the competition. This year, as part of the competition, exhibitions were held for the first time in Sokolniki Park and in the garden named after N.E. Bauman. They presented photographs of attractions, stops on natural, architectural and historical routes, where the winners of previous years invited residents and tourists to go.

The Active Citizen project has been running since 2014. During its existence, almost seven million people joined it, and in total over 6.6 thousand votes were cast. The decisions supported by the majority of participants are implemented in the city.
