WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Troy A. Carter, Sr. (LA-02) announced new U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) LA-02 award recipients of the Clean School Bus Program rebate competition. Four LA-02 school districts will receive a combined total of $15,280,000. These rebates will help school districts purchase clean school buses to accelerate the transition to zero emission vehicles and produce cleaner air in and around schools and communities.

“I’m excited to announce this funding which will put more electric buses on the road and reduce carbon emissions in Louisiana,” said Rep. Carter. “These awards will improve air quality for our students, school employees, and their communities. Investments like these are why I championed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. Let’s get moving, LA-02!”

The EPA selected approximately 530 school districts spanning nearly every state, Washington, D.C., and several Tribes and U.S. territories to receive nearly $900 million in funds to replace older, diesel fueled school buses that have been linked to asthma and other conditions that harm the health of students and surrounding communities.
