From mid-March 2024, the bridges and roads department, in collaboration with the municipality of Val-de-Ruz, is committed to an approach to preserving the environment by felling 26 trees on the the entire municipal territory. This initiative is part of responsible maintenance and rejuvenation of the avenues of trees in Val-de-Ruz.

Following a thorough inspection carried out by the forest ranger, the critical condition of 26 trees along the roads of Val-de-Ruz was noted. Hollow, injured, or affected by rot on the branches of the crown, these trees present a danger to the safety of users, whether they are motorists, cyclists or pedestrians. In order to guarantee their safety and preserve the integrity of our environment, it is imperative to proceed with their slaughter as soon as possible.

The work will be carried out by the bridges and roads service (SPCH) and by the forestry service of the municipality of Val-de-Ruz, in compliance with environmental standards and favoring methods that respect nature. The replacement of felled trees is planned as part of a pathway renewal project, thereby preserving the natural beauty of our landscape.

During felling operations, traffic will be managed occasionally by State personnel, in order to minimize inconvenience for users.

The bridges and roads department and the municipality of Val-de-Ruz already thank users for their understanding and support in this approach in favor of safety and the preservation of our environment.
