WASHINGTON—Representative Dale W. Strong slammed the Biden Administration’s open border policies during this week’s House Committee on Homeland Security hearing. The hearing, entitled, “Voices for the Victims: The Heartbreaking Reality of the Mayorkas Border Crisis” was part of the committee’s impeachment proceedings against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
These impeachment proceedings follow a year-long investigation conducted by the Committee, in which it found that Secretary Mayorkas knowingly refused to enforce laws passed by Congress, resulting in the catastrophic border crisis we see today.
Not only has Secretary Mayorkas refused to enforce the law, but he has also refused to testify before the Committee during these proceedings and has ignored requests for over 170 documents and testimony from the Committee.
Recently, the Secretary himself admitted that they were releasing over 80% of illegal immigrants that cross the Southern border into the U.S., despite existing laws that mandate this only be done on a “limited, case-by-case basis.”
The hearing featured two mothers who hold the Administration – and its refusal to enforce the law – responsible for the tragic loss of both their daughters.
Rep. Strong’s questions and remarks to those mothers during the hearing can be found HERE.
