Aachen (Agenzia Fides) – Seeking the good of others and not always trying to have more for oneself, leading a more supportive lifestyle. Archbishop Emilio Nappa, President of the Pontifical Mission Societies, recalled this several times in Aachen during his visit to the national direction of the Pontifical Mission Societies (Missio Aachen). Two very intense days where the President was able to get a close look at the work of Missio Aachen and “Die Sternsinger,” the Pontifical Missionary Childhood Work in Aachen.Archbishop Nappa encouraged the development of ways that allow for real and virtual interaction between people in all parts of the world. These encounters allow people to experience mutual enrichment despite different backgrounds and life situations. “A ‘lifestyle of solidarity’ makes people happier than the simple pursuit of ‘more and more,’” Archbishop Nappa stressed. “Doing good does good” should be the life program of every Christian. In this way, global church networks could mobilize support for the disadvantaged “South” of the world and be attractive to people in the West who are looking for meaning in their existence. “In Aachen, the President of the Pontifical Mission Societies visited the traveling truck “One World. No Slavery” that offers visitors the opportunity to discover thanks to technology the many slavery in the world.During the “two days” Archbishop Nappa celebrated a Mass, met with members of the Board of Directors and employees of Missio Aachen and “Die Sternsinger” whom he thanked for their commitment.(EG) (Agenzia Fides 06/02/2024)
