Washington, DC – Rep. Hageman issued the following statement on the upcoming deadline for comment on the Bureau of Land Management’s disastrous proposed Rock Springs Resource Management Plan (RMP):

“The public comment period for the Rock Springs RMP closes tomorrow, January 17. The Bureau of Land Management’s preferred plan is one of the largest land grabs that we have ever seen and will block ranching, energy production, mining, recreation, and any other economic development on nearly 2 million acres of land in our state. It is impossible to overestimate the level of harm this will cause to our communities, but there is still hope that these federal bureaucrats will be deterred by overwhelming sentiment against their plan.

“Take a moment to review the draft RMP and share your concerns by submitting a public comment via this link. I will continue to fight in Congress against this senseless, disastrous plan, and hope that you will join me by making your voice heard as well. For additional information on the draft RMP and on how to make a comment, visit the University of Wyoming’s RMP information page here.”
