Bern, 16.01.2024 – Vocational training offers are continually reviewed and adapted if necessary. In 2023, the State Secretariat for Training, Research and Innovation (SERI) approved or issued the requirements relating to 50 revised or newly created professions, i.e. 23 at the initial professional training level and 27 at the level of higher professional training. The professions of CFC solar installer / CFC solar installer, AFP solar fitter / AFP solar fitter and building envelope designer / building envelope designer with federal diploma have emerged in particular under the influence of sustainable development and ecology.
In Switzerland, organizations in the world of work are responsible for professions and are therefore responsible for developing training content. The creation of new professions is largely dictated by developments and themes such as sustainable development and ecology and therefore by the needs of companies for qualified personnel. Thus, people who follow the new CFC solar installer / CFC solar installer training will learn from the start of the 2024 school year to assemble, install, maintain and repair solar installations on flat roofs, sloping roofs or facades. . They will thus ensure that the building envelope is used to produce energy and meets the requirements relating to energy efficiency and environmental protection. At the tertiary level, future holders of the federal diploma of building envelope designer/building envelope designer will be able to produce complete building envelopes or parts of the building envelope as part of new constructions and transformations. In order to guarantee the quality of the building envelope, these specialists will clarify in particular the requirements linked to the various interfaces with the rest of the building. They will identify the essential success factors and develop appropriate solutions while taking into account criteria linked to sustainable development.
The Confederation, namely SERI, is responsible for issuing ordinances on initial professional training, approving regulations relating to federal examinations (professional and higher professional examinations), approving framework study plans relating to higher education training courses and the recognition of higher education training courses and post-graduate studies. Responsibility for execution and implementation lies with the cantons in initial vocational training and with labor organizations and colleges for higher vocational training.
In this context, the requirements for initial professional training are reviewed at least every five years and adapted if necessary based on economic, technological, ecological and educational developments. Likewise, higher professional training offers and diplomas are regularly reviewed and adapted to new developments.
