Defence ministers established the Hub for EU Defence Innovation (HEDI) within the European Defence Agency on 17 May 2023. This initiative is in line with the Strategic Compass for Security and Defence recommendation to establish such an innovation hub. The aim of HEDI is to step up and coordinate defence innovation cooperation between EU Member States.

• 1.What is the VP/HR’s assessment of how HEDI is functioning and of how effective it is? Will there be a report on that?
• 2.Is the VP/HR aware of cooperation between HEDI and similar initiatives within NATO, and specifically with the Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA)?
