On November 20, at a meeting of the Academic Council of Moscow University chaired by Rector Academician V.A. Sadovnichy held a solemn ceremony of signing the agreement on the establishment of the Vernadsky-Gorny Altai consortium. Head of the Altai Republic O.L. Khorokhordin: “Cooperation with Moscow University is of particular interest for the Altai Republic. In addition to resolving personnel issues and building cooperation between universities and enterprises, it is especially important for us that the region was the first to declare a noospheric approach in its development program. We would like to invite the country’s leading university to provide expertise and support in the implementation of such an innovative approach.”

The idea of creating a scientific and educational consortium “Vernadsky” was put forward at the XI Congress of the Russian Union of Rectors (April 26, 2018, St. Petersburg) by the President of the RSR, Academician V.A. Sadovnichy, who proposed combining the potential of the country’s leading university, several regional universities and research institutes, as well as socially oriented federal and regional business. This initiative was supported by the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin and approved by the Congress delegates.

Within the framework of the project, advanced multidisciplinary training of interdisciplinary personnel is carried out for the socio-economic needs of the regions on the basis of scientific and educational consortia, which include Moscow State University, regional universities and research institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences, production sites of state corporations and innovation-centric private businesses.

Consortia are formed in priority areas of regional economic development and taking into account established scientific schools of regional institutions of higher education. The project formats are targeted training and retraining of personnel for the needs of regional enterprises, the creation of partnerships between scientific departments and scientific schools, the establishment of interaction between universities and their industrial partners, the organization and conduct of summer schools for teachers of secondary educational institutions, the development of cooperation between young scientists, etc.
