U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Christopher Wray visited Chile this week and met with key counterparts, including Investigations Police of Chile (PDI) Director General Sergio Muñoz Yáñez.

In his meetings, Director Wray expressed his gratitude on behalf of the FBI and U.S. law enforcement agencies for the strong, historic law enforcement cooperation between the United States and Chile and reiterated our shared commitment to continued collaboration, cooperation, and information sharing to combat transnational crime.

During his visit, the directors signed a Memorandum of Understanding that formalizes the long-standing partnership between the FBI and PDI and establishes a framework for expanded, two-way, joint training and exchanges between the law enforcement agencies to facilitate more robust information sharing and alignment of crime prevention efforts.
