In the Media release from Monday, June 20, 2022, an error has crept in regarding the obligation to pay for the second booster vaccinations. These are not only subject to a fee from July 1, 2022, but from Friday, June 24, 2022.
Second booster vaccinations (second booster vaccinations) are only offered in the canton’s vaccination center. From Friday, June 24, 2022, these vaccinations are subject to a fee. A second booster vaccination costs a flat rate of 60 francs. The obligation to pay only refers to the second booster vaccination, which is done voluntarily. The second booster vaccination is recommended for severely immunodeficient people and is therefore still free of charge. Vaccination for the basic immunization (first and second vaccination dose) and the first booster vaccination are also free of charge. If possible, the vaccination should be carried out via the existing platform impf-check.ch can be booked properly, but can also be done as a walk-in if necessary. Vaccinations for the basic immunization and the first booster vaccination can still be booked in medical practices and pharmacies.
The second booster vaccination is administered to people who are not medically necessary, outside of a recommendation by the Federal Commission on Vaccination (EKIF) and Swissmedic approval, and is therefore off-label and subject to a fee. Recommended vaccinations for basic immunization and the first booster vaccination can still be carried out in medical practices or pharmacies in addition to the vaccination center.
