DCCC Chair Sean Patrick Maloney’s decision to leave the district he currently represents to primary a Black freshman is NOT playing well with his caucus.

Politico reports “[a]t least a dozen members, mostly from swing districts, are even raising the prospect of trying to depose Maloney from his post as DCCC chair according to multiple people familiar with the discussions.”

And now we know why Maloney is trying to move to a district that is bluer than the one he represents.

Punchbowl News reports internal DCCC polling found “that, in battleground districts, the generic Republican is beating the generic Democrat, 47-39… This is a stunning margin and highlights the incredibly perilous position Democrats find themselves in.”

NRCC Comment: “Sean Patrick Maloney is making a case for the worst DCCC Chairman of all time. The DCCC’s obsession with fringe issues has set them up for an electoral disaster.” – NRCC Spokesman Mike Berg
