Alien animals and plants can cause major damage in water bodies. So far, the waters of Central Switzerland have been little affected by “invasive neobiota”. To ensure that the problem does not become more acute and the potential for damage remains low, the Office for Forests and Wildlife (AFW) and the Office for the Environment (AFU) are launching a joint information campaign to protect Lake Aegeri. Under the slogan “Beware stowaways”, rules are drawn up and measures taken that are particularly important for people who drive boats, fish or practice other water sports and who use their equipment in different bodies of water.

The competent experts on site explain to the media how prevention, strategy and monitoring are designed and how the various actors work together.
