After the war, Ukraine will rebuild its infrastructure and build a qualitatively new economy based on the principles of sustainable development. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal in his speech to the G7 Development Ministers of Development on May 18.

“The key source of funding for this plan is the Reconstruction Fund of Ukraine, which will be replenished from five sources. But the basis of recovery should be the funds of the occupier. Like any aggressor in the future, russia must understand the cost of war,” the Prime Minister said.

Denys Shmyhal called on the G7 countries to start drafting national and international legislation on the confiscation of frozen assets of russia and their transfer to Ukraine.

“Such legislation is already being shaped by the United States and Canada. It is important that all our partners engage in this process. This is a matter of justice, because the aggressor cannot be allowed to destroy half of Ukraine’s economy and not pay for it,” Denys Shmyhal stressed.
