After the Oberalp and Klausen passes, the winter closure will also be lifted on the Gotthard pass on Friday, May 20, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. This is announced by the Federal Roads Office ASTRA. The clearance work was carried out under the direction of the National Roads Operation Office.

Susten and Furka only partially openThe Susten Pass (2224 meters) has been open to traffic from the Uri side to the Sustenbrüggli since last week. The Susten Pass should only be completely open in the course of June. The Furka Pass (2431 meters) has also been partially passable up to Tiefenbach since May 3, 2022. The Furka Pass will not be fully open until the end of May at the earliest. These two passes are being made passable again by the Office for Civil Engineering, Operation Kantonsstrassen.

Dates are subject to changeAll dates are subject to change. The opening dates can be postponed by up to two weeks depending on the weather in the mountains. In the high mountains it is possible that a pass has to be temporarily closed again due to heavy snowfall. The Uri Construction Department recommends checking the condition of the road before each pass. Current information is below available.
