Starting today, anyone who would like to operate a sales stand in Basel can find out more about the vacant locations on the website of the Civil Engineering Office and then apply directly. Locations are currently available on Oberer Rheinweg, Helvetiaplatz and Breitematte.

Local residents, schoolchildren, students, park visitors and all other passers-by can quickly get something to eat or treat themselves to a little refreshment at sales stands. Various offers are conceivable, from juice bars to sausage stands. Some locations are intended exclusively for selling ice cream and chestnuts. As a rule, the locations for sales stands do not have a power or water connection.

Anyone considering the operation of a sales stand and would like to find out more about the framework conditions and requirements for the permit can now find the relevant information, including a list of free locations, on the website of the civil engineering office. Locations are currently available on the Oberer Rheinweg near the Münster ferry (free from March 2023), at Helvetiaplatz, at the Breitematte and on Münsterplatz. The location on Münsterplatz is only intended for selling ice cream and chestnuts. Some locations have a deadline for submitting the application.

Interested stand operators must submit an operating concept to the commons administration. Applications will be processed in the order in which they are received. In order to keep the effort low for both those interested and for the administration, there are no tenders for the locations.
