MIL-OSI Europe: Denys Shmyhal: Citizen Security Centers in communities will allow to respond to requests for emergency assistance around the clock

In the presence of Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, on October 27, the Citizen Security Center was opened in the village of Ocheretyne, Donetsk region. The event was also attended by the head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, head of the regional military-civil administration Pavlo Kyrylenko and the Head of the State Emergency Service Mykola Chechotkin.

The construction of the center was implemented within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Donetsk Regional State Administration and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. The Citizen Security Center will help to respond promptly to challenges, address issues related to the protection of the population and the community.

“Today we are opening the 16th Security Center in Donetsk region. This area is taking the lead in their number. Community safety centers combine the functions of strengthening public safety, protecting against fires and emergencies, and providing emergency medical care. The goal is to respond to a 24-hour emergency call request within 20 minutes. The task of the Government is to expand the number of the said centers that will guarantee security, comfort and stability to the residents of communities,” Denys Shmyhal underscored.

The specialization of such Security Centers is firefighting, emergency response, protection of human rights and freedoms, crime prevention, maintenance of public safety and order in the settlements.

A total of 28 Citizen Security Centers are planned to be created in Donetsk region.
