MIL-OSI Russia: Russian Emergencies Ministry summed up the results of large-scale exercises in the Arctic

On October 21, Acting Minister of EMERCOM of Russia Alexander Chupriyan held a meeting on the results of an interdepartmental experimental research exercise to protect the territories of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation from emergencies, which took place on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation.

Federal executive authorities, governors and representatives of mining companies took part in the interdepartmental meeting.

As noted by A. Chupriyan, for the first time in the Arctic zone of the EMERCOM of Russia and the RSChS, an interdepartmental group of more than 6 thousand people and 550 pieces of equipment was created, capable of responding to all man-made and natural challenges and threats.

Ministries and departments, business entities, executive authorities of Arctic entities and municipalities took an active part in the exercise, which was coordinated by the department.

At the same time, 12 practical introductory tasks were worked out in 7 constituent entities of the Russian Federation.

The event involved 7 territorial and 28 functional subsystems of the RSChS, 5 largest economic entities implementing large-scale infrastructure projects in the Arctic.

During the two-day training, the emergency department applied the experience accumulated over 30 years, taking into account the specifics of the region. More than 40 units of new equipment have been tested and approved. The current methods and new algorithms that can be recommended for use in emergencies have confirmed their relevance.

The results of the exercises will be included in the final scientific and methodological edition.
