MIL OSI Translation. Region: Russian Federation –

In the aviation regiment of the long-range aviation command stationed in the Amur Region, scheduled flights of Tu-95ms strategic missile carriers took place.

The crews worked, among other things, refueling in the air, which took place at an altitude of over 6,000 meters at a speed of over 550 kilometers per hour. The distance between the tanker aircraft and the strategic missile carrier was less than 20 meters.

The flight missions were completed both during daylight and at night.

The total duration of the flights of the crews was more than 25 hours.

Refueling in the air is one of the most difficult elements of flight training, while it allows you to significantly increase the combat range and perform missions as intended at a great distance from the home base.

The commander of the aviation regiment, Colonel Dmitry Egorov, noted the well-coordinated actions of the crews when performing these flight missions.
