PATCHOGUE, NY – Today, Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1) sent a letter to U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg in support of the Town of Riverhead’s Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) grant application to help fund the creation of a new Riverhead Town Square. Congressman Zeldin has long supported this effort to revitalize the local economy and assisted the town in the grant application process.
“The proposed Riverhead Town Square in the center of Main Street will result in increased pedestrian traffic and will be a driving force for further revitalization in Downtown Riverhead. An infusion of federal RAISE grant funds to create a public square to provide scenic riverfront vistas and a public gathering space will catalyze and incentivize this redevelopment,” Congressman Zeldin wrote in part.
