Northern Territory Police continue to appeal for assistance from the public to help identify the vehicle and driver involved in the hit and run pedestrian fatality on Tuesday night.

Detectives are now aware that the driver continued driving inbound along Trower Road before turning left at the intersection of Rapid Creek Road. The vehicle then travelled into Nightcliff.

Detective Senior Sergeant Brendan Lindner said, “We think it’s likely that the driver commenced their journey in or around Wagaman.  We know it turned from Gsell Street onto Vanderlin Drive and turned left onto Trower Road out the front of Casuarina Square.

“We know that the driver continued driving along Trower Road towards the CBD, travelling past Alawa and Jingili before turning left onto Rapid Creek Road, Millner. Very shortly thereafter it was captured turning into Nightcliff at around 11:15pm and travelled towards the Nightcliff shops.

“It’s quite possible that the older model white sedan has minimal or even no damage.

“We continue to appeal for assistance from the community to help identify the vehicle.  Please take a minute to look at the CCTV footage.  If you’re familiar with the vehicle, you might recognise it.

“If you know of a vehicle that matches the description that, since Tuesday night, is now not parked in its usual spot or parked unusually or perhaps been washed or repaired unusually this week, anything that arouses suspicion, police are very interested in this information.

“If anyone with dash-cam footage was travelling along these roads from 11.10pm onwards and captured footage of the vehicle, please let us know on 131 444.

“You can make an anonymous report through Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or www.crimestoppersnt.com.au  Please quote reference number 9818067.”
