The Vice President and Chancellor of Colombia, Marta Lucia Ramírez, assured that we must work with respect, humility, with a true commitment to freedom and the dignity of each of the people, in the ceremony of delivery of the floral offering that she made in the Raj Ghat memorial to Mahatma Gandhi, today October 2, which commemorates the International Day of Nonviolence, in tribute to the leader of the Indian Independence movement and pioneer of the philosophy of Nonviolence.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed that we must always follow in Colombia the values that Mahatma Gandhi left to humanity such as “unity, freedom, respect for the dignity of each person, this we have to apply in Colombia every day, because Those of us who love and work for the peace of our country know that Colombia has bled to death due to totally absurd divisions ”.
In the tribute to the Indian leader and philosopher, the senior official took the opportunity to make a call to work for the country, remembering “that we are people who are short-lived through life and that in the end the only thing we can leave as a legacy is the work we do sincerely, authentically, wanting to serve, uniting our country, opening spaces to integrate all Colombians in the opportunities of progress, truly wanting to close the social gap and the gap between the regions that exists in Colombia.
And he reiterated that in our country “we have the duty to work for those of us who are today, but above all for those young generations and the generations that will come, with respect, with humility, with a true commitment to freedom and the dignity of each one. of people”.
The wreath was made in commemoration of the International Day of Non-Violence, the day of the birth of Ghandi “Ghandi Jayanti”. This visit is carried out within the framework of the Mission carried out by the Vice President and Chancellor to India with which she sealed alliances in health, science and technology together with the Minister of Health, Fernando Ruiz; the Vice Minister of Knowledge, Innovation and Productivity, Sergio Cristancho; the Director of Cooperation of the Foreign Ministry, Álvaro Calderón and 13 entrepreneurs from Colombian pharmaceutical laboratories.
