MIL-OSI Russia: The Commander of the Northern Fleet congratulated the students of the Murmansk Nakhimov Naval School on their initiation into the Nakhimovites

On the parade ground of the only military educational institution beyond the Arctic Circle – the Murmansk Nakhimov Naval School, a solemn ceremony of initiation into the Nakhimovites of cadets enrolled in the summer of 2021 took place. In the presence of the commander of the Northern Fleet, Hero of Russia, Admiral Alexander Moiseyev, 80 freshmen and several more senior students took the oath of the Nakhimovite.

The commander of the Northern Fleet, Admiral Alexander Moiseev, congratulated the newly-ordained Nakhimovites on a significant event in their lives and wished them success in their studies, sports and creative activities. Also, the fleet commander wished future naval officers never to turn off the glorious path of a Russian sailor once chosen and to be equal in life and service to such great naval commanders as Fyodor Ushakov, Pavel Nakhimov, Stepan Makarov and Nikolai Kuznetsov.

At the end of the ceremony, students of all seven courses of the Murmansk Nakhimov Naval School marched across the parade ground and sang marching songs.

This year, the number of students at the Murmansk Nakhimov Naval School has reached full strength. The first set of young men who came to the school four years ago are already mastering the senior year program. The first graduation from the Murmansk NVMU will take place next year.
