MIL-OSI Russia: The Alley of Heroes-Navigators was opened at the branch of the Air Force Academy in Chelyabinsk

The “Alley of Heroes” dedicated to 35 Heroes of the Soviet Union and Russia and one Hero of Socialist Labor was opened in the Chelyabinsk branch of the Military Educational Scientific Center of the Air Force “Air Force Academy named after Professor N.Ye. Zhukovsky and Yu.A. Gagarin “on the day of the 85th anniversary of the founding of the military educational institution.

During the solemn ceremony of the opening of the “Alley of Heroes”, the cadets and guests of the school were presented with busts of navigators-heroes of the graduates of the educational institution Argunov N.F. and Vernyaeva A.Ya. The busts are dedicated to the first graduates of the school who were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union during the Great Patriotic War. All in all, the Alley of Heroes will immortalize the memory of 36 alumni-heroes, including 33 navigators, an air radio operator, an aircraft controller and a record holder of Soviet oil production; the monuments will be installed in chronological order.

The opening of the “Alley of Heroes” is timed to celebrate the 85th anniversary of the founding of the School of Navigators and the 105th anniversary of the Navigation Service of the Air Force. In addition to the opening of the memorial complex in the Chelyabinsk branch of the VUNC of the Air Force “VVA”, a ceremonial formation of personnel, a performance by the aerobatic team “Swifts” and an open lesson on the simulator of the Su-34 fighter-bomber with the participation of the veteran navigator service Colonel Valentin Aleksandrovich Chernov are planned.
