October 3 marks the birthday of the poet Sergei Yesenin. The MES library has prepared a selection of interesting applications for this date. Schoolchildren will be able to find out details about his fate and work.

Sergei Yesenin was born in 1895 in the village of Konstantinovo, Ryazan province. He is called the master of the psychologized landscape, the singer of peasant Rus and the connoisseur of the folk soul. He lived a short but bright life.

Sergei Yesenin has always openly declared his peasant origin, and his works often contain a description of nature, rural life, and the life of village people. Schoolchildren can learn about childhood and adolescence, as well as about the beginning of the poet’s career by looking video lecture…

Even after moving to Moscow, Sergei Yesenin often turned to the folk theme. A striking example is the poem “Goy you, Russia, my dear”, written in 1914.
