More than 100 video works were presented by pupils of the Suvorov, Nakhimov and cadet schools of the Russian Ministry of Defense at the annual film festival of amateur short films and video works “Cadet Look”, which started at the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation for the fifth time. Representatives of the Republic of Uzbekistan from the Fergana Military-Academic Lyceum “Temurbeklar Maktabi” are participating in the competitive selection this year.

This year the festival is held under the motto: “By the roads of military glory:” Keeping faithful to the great courage. ” Thanks to the holding of such a competition, conditions are created for the creative self-realization of school students, an interest in the study of military history, military local history is formed, and military traditions are preserved and inherited.

The jury of the festival will evaluate the work of the participants in the nominations documentary and fiction short films, which were shot this year. Additional nominations will be contests for the best posters for video works, trailers for feature films and music videos “We sing to you, Fatherland!”

The level of work is growing every year, this was repeatedly noted by the jury at the festivals held earlier. The topics raised by the pupils of the schools in their video works are not at all for children. So, girls from the Russian Defense Ministry’s boarding school dedicated their feature film to the heroism of doctors in the fight against coronavirus infection. The mother of the protagonist of the short film “My Mom’s Story” is experiencing the vaccine that is being developed and overcomes the eternal problem of “fathers and children.”

The guys from the St. Petersburg Suvorov Military School in the film “Boys” filmed the story of the feat of 11 teenagers from the Teryaevsky orphanage, who defended the village of Steblevo in the Volokolamsk district from the Nazi invaders in 1941.

The events unfolding in the film “To Survive in the Name of …” take the audience to Voronezh in 1942. Pupils of the cadet engineering school of the VUNTS of the Air Force “Air Force Academy named after Professor N.E. Zhukovsky and Yu.A. Gagarin ”tells the story of the USSR pilot-cosmonaut, Hero of the Soviet Union Konstantin Feoktistov. Using the example of an astronaut, they show that even a shooting is not an obstacle on the way to a goal and a dream.

All presented works are posted on the official website of the Russian Ministry of Defense in the “Education” section https://cinemafest.mil.ru/ and anyone can see the works created by the guys during the festival.

The selection of winners is carried out in two stages. At the first stage, all works are evaluated by pupils of all pre-university organizations and the best ones are chosen by voting. The results of the voting will be summed up at the Kazan Suvorov Military School, where a general rating and a short list of participants in the final stage of the festival are drawn up.

The names of the winners and prize-winners will be announced at the award ceremony to be held on October 27, 2021 in Kazan. In addition to choosing the winner of the Grand Prix of the festival, the winners will be chosen in 12 nominations: Best Screenplay, Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Sound Design, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Trailer, Best Music Video, Audience Award, Best poster and complexity of implementation.
