October 1 became an annual holiday for the military training center at Voronezh State University. This decision was made on September 24, 2021 by the Academic Council of the university in commemoration of the 95th anniversary of the beginning of military training at VSU. Today cadets and teachers celebrated this holiday for the first time in the main building of the state university.

At the appointed time, the banner group, to the sounds of the oncoming march, brought in the flag of the Russian Federation and the banner of the Voronezh State University.

The head of the military training center, Colonel Yuri Korenchuk, reminded the audience of the main milestones in the history of military education at Voronezh State University and spoke about the graduates who are proud of the current generation of teachers and students.

“Much has changed since then, back in 1926, when the first classes in the military office began at the Voronezh State University, which became the predecessor of the military department and the current military training center. Our main task has remained unchanged – training real professionals in their field who are ready to effectively participate in solving the tasks assigned to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, adequately respond to any challenges and threats, reliably ensure the sovereignty and national interests of Russia, the security and peaceful life of citizens ”, – noted Colonel Yuri Korenchuk.

The faculty, students and invited guests were congratulated by a graduate of the military department, Vice-President of the Russian Union of Rectors, Rector of VSU Dmitry Endovitsky. He noted that university graduates serve throughout Russia and far beyond its borders. Students are trained for military service by experienced teachers, many of whom took part in military operations and were awarded high state awards.

The rector expressed gratitude and gratitude to all those present, wished them success and good luck in their difficult military work.

On the occasion of the unit’s annual holiday, an order was issued to encourage the personnel of the military training center. Commemorative medals, valuable gifts, certificates of honor of the National Association of Associations of Reserve Officers of the Armed Forces (MEGAPIR) were awarded to the current and reserve officers of the VUTS.

In honor of the 95th anniversary of military training at VSU, the Resurrection Charitable Foundation handed over to the rector a copy of the bell cast for the Main Church of the RF Armed Forces and consecrated in this temple. The bell was transferred to the VSU Museum.
