MIL-OSI Russia: The newest autonomous field camp APL-500 was erected for the participants of the first Russian-Algerian exercise in North Ossetia

For the comfortable accommodation of the participants of the joint Russian-Algerian tactical exercise, the newest autonomous field camp APL-500 was erected at the Tarskoye training ground of the Southern Military District in North Ossetia.

The camp consists of frame tents made of modern composite materials. The APL-500 is designed to accommodate 500 military personnel, one tent is designed to accommodate 16 people. The quality of materials, convenience and ergonomics of the camp meet the highest requirements for comfortable living in the field.

The camp is equipped with a kitchen, laundry room, showers, toilets, diesel generator sets, providing uninterrupted power supply. A comfortable temperature in tents in the summer is provided by air conditioners, and in cold weather – by powerful heaters.

Also, the camp is equipped with lighting masts, rubber tracks, security and fire alarm systems and video surveillance with a video signal output to the monitors of the duty shift.

The joint exercise will involve about 40 units of military and special equipment, including BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles, armored personnel carriers, off-road vehicles, 120-mm transportable mortars “Sani”, unmanned aerial vehicles, assault and army aviation of the Southern Military District.

The first joint Russian-Algerian tactical exercise will last until October 11 this year. The events are attended by about 80 servicemen of motorized rifle formations of the Southern Military District, stationed in the North Caucasus, and about 80 servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Algerian People’s Democratic Republic.
