MIL-OSI Russia: Russian peacekeepers provided humanitarian aid to children of a boarding school in Nagorno-Karabakh

Specialists of the Russian Center for Humanitarian Response of the peacekeeping contingent, together with philanthropists, organized another humanitarian action to provide assistance to kindergartens, schools and universities in Nagorno-Karabakh.

As part of the action, Russian peacekeepers delivered and installed a carousel, a sports and children’s playground for pupils on the territory of the boarding school.

“A playground was delivered from Yerevan to Stepanakert, which was purchased by the“ Mercy ”charitable organization. The delivery was carried out by vehicles of the peacekeeping forces of the Russian Federation in Nagorno-Karabakh and today this playground was installed in the orphanage, ”said Dmitry Tusidi, a representative of the Russian peacekeeping contingent.

The servicemen of the Russian peacekeeping contingent continue to pay great attention to the education and assistance to the children of Nagorno-Karabakh. For children, peacekeepers conduct peace and security lessons, organize historical quizzes, assist educational institutions in the delivery of drinking water tanks, and donate textbooks, stationery, and essentials from charitable foundations.

The children and educators of the school thanked the specialists of the humanitarian response center of the Russian peacekeeping contingent and representatives of the charitable foundation for their assistance. In total, 18 pupils from socially disadvantaged families of Nagorno-Karabakh study at the boarding school of the city of Stepanakert.

Earlier, Russian peacekeepers installed a children’s trampoline in the courtyard of the boarding school, collected table football, took part in culinary competitions and handed over the first harvest from the grape pickers.

In accordance with the agreements specified in the joint statement of the President of the Russian Federation, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, from 00:00 Moscow time on November 10, 2020, a complete ceasefire and all hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh were announced.

A peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Federation has been deployed to control the ceasefire and military operations in Nagorno-Karabakh.
