Capital project Department of Finance “Open budget of the city of Moscow”became the gold medalist of the all-Russian competition “Budget for Citizens – 2021”.

The competition has been running for nine years. Its organizers are the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation and the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation. This year, 328 projects from 47 regions of the country participated. Contestants presented works aimed at increasing the level of financial literacy of the population.

The Internet portal “Open Budget of the City of Moscow” was awarded gold in the nomination “The best information panel (dashboard) on the budget for citizens”. Projects were evaluated in terms of accessible visualization of information, compliance of information with modern scientific and practical ideas about the budget of public law education, and also analyzed the information content, interactivity and usability of the interface.

In the spring of this year, the department presented a new version of the Moscow Open Budget portal. The changes affected all sections of the Internet resource. The members of the jury of the competition highly appreciated the updated design and content of the site.

“Thanks to the redesigned structure and the increase in the amount of data placed, information has become more accessible. The updated portal directly interacts with the information and analytical systems of the Department of Finance. In the online mode, you can now get information about the budget indicators and the implementation of state programs of the city of Moscow, study materials on the actual income and expenses of the city budget. In addition, interactive and multimedia elements have been added, the forms of analytical presentation of data have been improved and the educational side has been strengthened, “said the Minister of the Moscow Government, head of the Moscow Department of Information Technologies. The developers took into account the wishes of the portal users and brought to life the original ideas of the participants in the “Budget for Citizens” competition of previous years.

This is the third victory of the Moscow Department of Finance in the All-Russian competition of projects “Budget for Citizens”. In 2020, the agency’s brochure “Guide to the budget of the city of Moscow for 2020-2022” became silver medalist in the nomination “The best draft of the regional budget for citizens”, and in 2018 the project of the Department “Festival of Financial Literacy – 2017” took first place in the nomination “The best event-event under the project” Budget for Citizens “.
