The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mrs. Edite Ramos da Costa Ten Jua, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Communities of the Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe. They discussed the situation in the country and cooperation with the United Nations, including on climate change. The Secretary-General commended the country for concluding its recent presidential election peacefully.
He reaffirmed the United Nations’ readiness to support the country in achieving reform and development and reiterated the availability of the United Nations Country Team and his Special Representative for Central Africa to provide good offices in support of the country.
