From October 3 to 10, 2021, the Summer Company of the Joinville Battalion will gather at the 21st Marine Infantry Regiment (21st RIMa) in Fréjus for an acculturation and cohesion course.
90 high-level defense athletes (SHND), assigned to the Joinville Battalion of the National Defense Sports Center, will discover the world of soldiers from the 21st RIMa in Fréjus and share their daily life. Olympic and Paralympic medalists and world champions from all disciplines from the Army of Champions will participate in this gathering.
Military cohesion and military training courses are organized each year for high-level athletes from the Ministry of the Armed Forces. The sharing of experience between sportsmen and soldiers from operational units brings real added value to the Joinville Battalion system.
Acculturation to military values is essential in the careers of top defense athletes. It facilitates their integration into the armed forces and the national gendarmerie and strengthens their intrinsic qualities as well as the spirit of cohesion within the teams.
