MIL-OSI Russia: Practical exercises on yachts were held at the Nakhimov Naval School

In St. Petersburg, with 9th grade Nakhimov students, under the guidance of a teacher-organizer of a separate discipline “Naval training and the basics of life safety,” Captain 1st Rank Lev Efremenkov and the course instructors were given practical exercises on yachts.

Classes were held in the center of physical and maritime training of the sports club of the army on the yachts “Argo”, “Clever” and “Vega”. During the theoretical part of the lesson, the Nakhimovites were shown the placement of various devices on yachts, explained the purpose of each of the sails, the guys examined the cabins.

Before going to sea, the Nakhimovites were assigned to bow and mooring teams, a yacht helmsman and a lookout were appointed. The pupils were at sea for about 2 hours. During this time, all Nakhimovites tried themselves in the role of a helmsman, got practice in setting a sail and simply enjoyed the beauty of the Neva and the Gulf of Finland.
