In its article entitled ‘Five things to know about: Mixing and matching coronavirus vaccines’ published on 5 May 2021, the Commission reports on vaccination progress and vaccine-mixing in the EU.
1. Can the Commission say how many people in the EU have received different vaccines for their first and second dose? Are people vaccinated in this way entitled to a ‘coronapass’ recognised in all Member States?
2. Are European citizens living outside the Union who received a first dose of a vaccine, such as Covishield, that is recognised by some Member States but not by the European Medicines Agency (EMA), and who then received a second dose of another vaccine that is recognised by the EMA, entitled to a digital COVID certificate recognised by all 27 Member States?
